Jean Pierre Ndekezi is the Chief Cook at Blues Café in town. Below, he shares with us his working day. I wake up at 6a.m and prepare for work. It takes me about half an hour from Kimisagara where I stay to town. Work starts at 7a.m. As soon as I get to work, I check to ensure the stock has the day’s kitchen demands. I make a list of what is not in stock and forward it to my boss. It is that time that I also have breakfast. I start work that includes instructing and allocating my juniors what they are meant to do. I have lunch at 2 p.m. Work continues until 4p.m, when my work partner takes over. I sign off and move on, depending on the day’s program. If I have to meet some friends, this is the time I use. I get home between 5 and 6p.m. When I get home, I have a good time with my children and wife until when we have supper at 9p.m. I go to bed at 10p.m. mugoyag@yahoo.com
