Editor, Children have suffered for ages as a result of malnutrition, a direct cause of either their parent’s ignorance or the sheer lack of food. In Africa this has been the case for years. It’s recorded that there are over a billion people in this world still struggle to find food daily. Scattered all over the world children are the most affected. Surprisingly in Rwanda, the case is no different with about 60,000 children who are underfed. Being an agricultural country, Rwandans should be more informed about feeding their children. Simply giving children maize porridge and beans to eat daily does not mean they are feeding on a balanced diet. More people in rural Rwanda should be educated in ways they can nurture their children. This should not be limited to cultural morals, but in feeding as well. Let parents, local leaders and respective ministerial leaders not stop at talking but enforce methods of curbing this problem. The efforts to feed Rwanda’s children are commendable but more needs to be done. Chantal Kwizera KimicangaKwi-chtla@yahoo.fr
