Rwanda’s athletics team for the upcoming World Championships in Osaka, Japan jets out today aboard a Kenya Airways plane. The three-man team includes; Angelline Nyiransabimana, Dieudonne Disi and Appollinaire Munyangoga; the national athletics federation secretary general. Disi and Nyiransabimana will compete in the 5000m race of the championship that runs from August 23-24. The federation’s technical director Emmanuel Murenzi has said that the athletes have not been escorted by a technical coach but could not reveal why. “It was agreed that the federation’s Secretary General would accompany the team in Japan,” Murenzi narrated. The three-man team will link up with Munyandamutsa who flew to Japan on Saturday ago to attend the IAAF Congress that is scheduled for mid-week. Ends
