Mukura Victory Sport has signed a 17-year old Cameroonian utility player on a one-year contract, team manager Patrick Kayiranga has revealed.Jacques Manu Kimenyi who is born from a Rwandese mother and Cameroonian father arrived at the club’s training ground in Huye district early last week and has been training with the club. He is a product of the Bonn Fortuna academy in Germany and has been sent by his academy to come and carryout his trials before he goes back to Germany for his progress to be assessed.“Iam here to gain experience from playing regular football at a top club like this one (Mukura),” Kimenyi told Times Sport, before adding that he would love to work hard and compete with the older and more experienced players for a first team place.The teenage who can play in the holding midfield role as well as in the defense, has already caught the eye of club head coach Rajab Bizimuremyi with his incredible pace and skill. However, Bizimuremyi explained that the youngster would have to fight for his place with the likes of Rodriguez Murengezi, Felix Muvunyi, Fidele Nduwimana among others.Jacques joined Bonn Fortuna academy at the age eight and has been at the Germany based soccer school since then. After spending one year at Mukura, Jacques would return to Germany and Bonn Fortuna administrators would have to base their assessment of his progress on recommendations from Mukura before deciding on his future. If he is good enough, the Germany academy will sign him for their under-18 team or link him with profession clubs. The player revealed that there are many other players from the same academy who have been sent to various countries up their talent and they have to return to Germany for assessment.And Kimenyi says he chose Rwanda over Cameroon because he wanted to visit his late mother’s the relatives.
