A day in the life of.... : Raymond Gatera

Raymond Gatera is a Legislative Drafting Officer in the Ministry of Justice. He is therefore in charge of analyzing regulations that come from different ministries among other duties. Below he tells us how he goes about with the daily work. I wake up at 6a.m, pray and check on Reyanne my first born of 8 month. I take a shower, have breakfast and set-off for work. It takes me about 20minutes from Kibagabaga to the work place. By 7a.m, I must be in office. The first thing I do is to check on The New Times website to read local news. I then start my daily work. This includes analyzing draft laws from different ministries, making comments and making the appropriate format among other things. I normally have lunch at mid-day during the one hour for resting. Work continues until 6p.m when I pick my wife to go shopping. By 7p.m, I must be at home. I spend the evening with my family watching Television, reading local news and watching soccer. I normally have supper at 9p.m, but I most of the time go to bed at 11p.m. mugoyag@yahoo.com
