BANK of Kigali (BK) won the war of banks after a 1-0 victory over Rwanda Commercial Bank (BCR) as the corporate league swung into the second round over the weekend. The win catapulted BK to second position, one point adrift of hailing giants Rwanda Revenue Authority (RRA) and seven points above BCR who have managed one victory in their last six games. Table leaders Caisse Sociale (CSR) now have to prove that they are the better team when they lock horns with BK mid next month. The two sides are only separated by goal difference at the top of the table. In basketball, it was more misery for BCR after losing 61-74 against ACCESS while Bralirwa edged Ministry of Sports and Culture (Minispoc) 3-2 in a thrilling volleyball contest at Amahoro Indoor courts. CSR also pulled off a 3-2 set victory over medical insurers RAMA. The league will take a break this weekend to pave way for the monthly walkathon. The event, scheduled for Sunday will start at Amahoro indoor stadium to Kacyiru and back. Ends
