South Africa Senegal’s Traore takes MVP award Senegalese inspirational player, Aya Traore has emerged as the new Africa Best Player in women basketball. Traore who inspired her side to victory over former champions Mali will now wear the crown of Most Valuable Player for the next two years. Maiwenn Andriamilandy of Madagascar was the championship revelation; Mauritius team was given an honorary fair-play award while hosts Madagascar won the fair-play award.
