Making the last days of the term count

THE last few days of school are evil. These days come with sluggishness, low morale, and low motivation to most students. It is quite amazing how time runs out. Students are likely to be idling, moving in and out of class at their wish, and wasting a lot of time. Candidates are now expecting the best out of their sweat, but only for those who toiled enough to achieve it. Making it to another class is yet another stepping-stone to success and what matters is how you get there. Students who went to school with a motive of passing are the ones who will make it. Those who have been a problem to their teachers will remain a problem even when they are out of school. These are such students who are bound to lose their way simply because they started a journey without a clear focus of finishing line. They are quite many of this kind out there. They only realise they are serious when time has run out. It is very impossible for an individual to succeed in life without hardwork! For candidates, the secret of success lies within you and you will never achieve it without toiling. That is no doubt about that! To pass your long-awaited exams, you need to remain focused, have a vision and above all great determination. I would like to remind all students in candidate classes that all successful people are dreamers. Work hard towards achieving your dream and trust me, there will be light at the end of your tunnel. This week schools are busy with students doing their exams. This is the very period for students to make good use of the available time. Past papers are so vital for such a time and more importantly, the teachers are very ready to solve any problem that might arise. All that notwithstanding, most students decide to go their own way. Teachers are only shadows to them, yet, teachers act as one of the greatest tools for a student’s success. Instead, students neglect them for no good reason. My worry sometimes is that in most cases students lose their morale in the last two weeks. This is the very period for thorough revision which revision counts most when there is a driving force, the teacher.Students should remember that the teacher is a key factor in the learning process. Sometimes students fail the exams because they wait for the last minute to begin their revision. Keeping your notes for last minute revision is quite devastating and only brings you disillusionment at the end of the day. Taking a goat to the stream appears a smart move but forcing it to drink water is no mean task. Teachers do their best to inculcate a reading culture in students. However hard they try, it has never been easy. Students still believe they can make wonders no matter what. In the end, most of them fidget in order to make it either by cheating in the examination room or any other type malpractice. Given the chances and time, it is never too late to mend. Students can still make the best if they are determined. Teachers also need to join hands in helping these students.
