GICUMBI - Byumba Hospital authorities have dismissed two employees for allegedly promoting ethnic divisionism within hospital staff and promoting negative propaganda. The two employees in the Administration department are Felecien Nizeyimana and Jean d’ Amour Habyarimana. The decision was reached at a district security meeting, held at the district recently, chaired by Mayor Bonane Nyangezi. The hospital’s Director, Dr. Deocles Mukama Twagiramungu told The New Times that the dismissed staff were also accused of causing chaos among hospital staff. “The matter is now over since the employees implicated in spreading divisionism are dismissed. All hospital employees are now working together harmoniously,” said Mukama. According to the minutes, the duo was found to be behind allegations that some medical personnel at the hospital were injecting blood contaminated with HIV/AIDS on patients. “These false and serious allegations aimed at tarnishing the good image of our hospital were aired on a number of radios across the country. The Mayor Nyangezi and the vice Mayor for Social Affairs Eugenie Uwamahoro had to appear on Radio Rwanda talk show to refute the allegations,” Dr. Mukama added. Ends
