IN a bid to cut down on the number of walk overs, the technical adviser of the national corporate league Jean Pierre Gakire has urged teams to always carry their playing licences to the grounds. Several games have had to be called off, delayed or postponed because of this problem. “We have planned an emergency meeting with all teams to try and rectify this problem. We want to do away with the idea of forfeiting matches and so on,” Gakire told Times Sport. “Right now, we are still trying to wrap up the first leg simply because we have had several cases of postponed fixtures.” According to the standings, the ministry of defence (MoD) has maintained its lead in the football category while RAMA and Electrogaz are at the helm in the volleyball and basketball categories. MoD’s previous tie ended in a 2-1 victory over Electrogaz. Football fixtures for the second round will be released this week. Ends
