Gov’t seeks soft landing for retrenched workers

KIGALI - Some of the public servants who will be dropped from the public service will remain on the State payroll for a period of six months as the government seeks to redeploy them, a situation that may lead to the government losing billions. According to the Minister of Public Service and Labour, Anastase Murekezi, the government is planning a ‘soft landing’ for public officials who stand to lose their jobs after the ongoing evaluation exercise.
