Over the last decade, Made in Rwanda brands received growing global recognition which also saw the dispatching of many fashion designers in the industry. Moshions is among top Made in Rwanda brands which attract different shoppers including top officials in Rwanda and international celebrities both in the music and fashion industry. The New Times brings to you a list of celebrities that rocked Moshions which recently launched a new collection dubbed ‘Imandwa’. Sonia Roland Rwandan-French actress and former Miss France is one of the celebrities that appeared dozens of times in Moshions brand. She rocked different collections of this brand like Umwitero Dress in 2017. Sonia was the first African-born winner of the Miss France pageant. Jidenna American renowned musician Jidenna Theodore Mobisson is one of the celebrities that rocked Moshions after performing for the first time in Rwanda. He headlined Kigali Jazz Junction in 2019 and since then, he has appeared wearing some clothes from the Ishuri Collection like the sleeveless cardigan. Saul Williams Saul Stacey Williams, American rapper, is also one of a few celebs that rocked Moshions after visiting Rwanda. In 2021, Saul Williams appeared wearing the recently launched collection Imandwa in an outfit titled ‘Shana Dress Jacket’. He is known for his blend of poetry and alternative hip hop, and for his lead roles in the 1998 independent film Slam and the 2013 jukebox musical Holler If Ya Hear Me. Saul Williams is also married to a Rwandan woman. Lous and the Yakuza Marie-Pierra Kakoma known professionally as Lous and the Yakuza is another celebrity who visited Moshions store in Kigali and bought some of its collections. The Congolese-Rwandan singer and rapper rose to prominence after the release of her debut single Dilemme in September 2019, which was followed by Tout est gore in December 2019 and Solo in March 2020. She was spotted wearing a Moshions collection in different areas of Europe. Nomzamo Mbatha Nomzamo Mbatha is a South African actress, television personality, who also rocked some of Moshions collections. The actress who rose to stardom in Coming 2 America appeared in ‘Josi Dress’ and a hat named ‘Mbona Beaded’. Sarkodie The renowned African rapper is also among the celebrities that rocked different Made in Rwanda brands, and Moshions is among them. During a concert which took place in December 2021, Sarkodie appeared in ‘Utebeza Shirt Jacket’’ on the stage alongside Nigerian star, 2baba. Ilhan Omar Ilhan Abdullahi Omar who is an American politician serving as the U.S. representative for Minnesota's 5th congressional district is also among the most famous people who rocked Moshions. In 2021 she visited Rwanda and recently she appeared in a video wearing ‘Intwari Gardon’ by Moshions.
