The West Division of the Road to BAL Elite 16 enters day three on Wednesday, November 16, in Abidjan, Cote D’Ivoire, as great teams from different countries continue to rub shoulders to see who makes it to the final tournament. The first two days were action-packed as a number of teams fought their way to victory, and several players showcased talent. Here, Times Sport looks at some key players and their contribution in the past two days. Dane Miller Jr (Seydou Legacy Athletique Club) Although the 32-year-old forward ended on the losing side against Stade Malien (82-76), his performance couldn't have gone unnoticed. The 2.03m (6ft 8in) was the go-to man in the tough match-up against Stade Malien of Bamako. He got away with a double-double performance of 22 points, 10 rebounds, 4 assists, 3 steals and an efficiency rating of 25. Mamadou Keita (Stade Malien) The 29-year-old Keita was everything for his side since action began on November 14. He is living up to expectations on the roster of Coach Kaba Kante. The 1,92cm (6ft 3in) guard has been terrific on the court each time he is called upon, propelling his team to two superb victories against tough opponents and a place in the Semi-Finals even with a game at hand. Keita stood tall against SLAC finishing the action packed game with 20 points, 4 rebounds, 2 steals and 18 efficiency rating the highest by any other player on his team. Michael Afuwape (Elan Coton) Self belief was what gave Elan Coton basketball club of Benin a shocking win over former Africa Champions Cup winner, Association Sportive de Sale of Morocco. And the 1,85m (5ft 11in) Nigerian did play a major role in that match up of Day 2. Afuwape paced his team with 19 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists, 6 steals and 21 efficiency rating. Kenneti Mendes (Forces Armees et Police) The Cape Verdean international gave an account of himself on the floor as he played his part well to help his team secure a first win in the search for one of the spot on offer in the West Division Elite 16 Semi-Finals. The 32-year-old 2,03m (6ft 8in) center scored two eye-catching three-pointers that drew applause from the fans. He, however, went on to finish as the top scorer for his side with 20 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists and an efficiency rating of 21. Jimmy Djimrabaye (Bangui Sporting Club) Not fazed with a technical foul midway into the third quarter the 2,03m (6ft 8in) Bangui Sporting Club forward played a major part to see his team stun Abidjan Basket Club in a tense Group A game. The Central African Republic international recorded a double-double against the 2005 Africa Champions Cup winner ABC with 18 points, 10 rebounds, 7 assists, one block shot and 28 efficiency rating.
