Rwanda on course with customer care campaign

The Rwanda Development Board (RDB)’s Human Capital and Skills Development in partnership with the Teachers Service Commission completed a two weeks workshops and trainings on customer care of primary and secondary school heads. According to a press statement from RDB all secondary and primary schools have incorporated a customer care programmes. ”In the first week, all teachers will be first trained by the head teachers in their schools. Following this, there will be a customer care month in schools and all teachers will hold formal teaching sessions on customer care delivery,” the statement said. ”After this, each school will hold a parent-child customer care day during which plays, poems and essays will be presented to parents by their children. These plays, poems and essays will showcase elements of bad and good customer care, the cost of bad customer care to communities and businesses, and how it can be improved,” it says. The statement all adds that after all this, there will be a national competition in which the steering committee will award the outstanding student, school, district and province/region in showcasing good customer care. In addition, prior to the 2009 International Trade Fair, 200 exhibitors received training on customer care. Also, the Private Sector Federation (PSF) considered quality of customer care when evaluating the best exhibitors. Furthermore, during the trade fair, the first customer care handbook was launched in Kinyarwanda and English and more 1,000 of the 15,000 copies that had been published, have been distributed. Ends
