HUYE – Trade and Industry minister Monique Nsanzabaganwa has called on local industries to seek certification from the Rwanda Bureau of Standards if they are to compete favorably in the region. While touring the district, Nsanzabaganwa visited Huye mineral water plant (Amazi ya Huye). “Getting standardisation as a form of certification helps your product to be more competitive on the now bigger East African market,” she said. Gilbert Gakwaya, the Huye water Industry General Manager, said that plans are underway to expand the plant in a move meant to bring in new products on the market. The Minister also visited some coffee washing stations in the district, to ascertain the challenges that they are facing for the purposes of getting tangible solutions. Ends
