The Business Plan Competition (BPC) has been postponed to the end of this month due to procurement delays, according to Antoine Manzi, the Director Entrepreneurship in the Private Sector Federation (PSF). “We have had delays in the procurement of papers to use in the process of application. We expect that by the end of this month the program will start off,” he said. But Manzi added that if the procurement issue is solved, “it could start on 15 October.” The BPC was supposed to start at the beginning of September but was extended to the end of the same month. The delay was explained as changes of choice in required applicants that needed sensitization into the various institutions. The choice of applicants was vocational students.Unlike other BPCs, this will allow 100 beneficiaries. It doubled from 50 last year. The competition that has been carried out annually since 2006 aims at making Rwanda a private sector led economy by encouraging job creation. Ends
