RUSIZI - A chief accountant at Rusizi High court, Adolphe Mazimpaka alias Kagoma, 29, was on Wednesday night killed and dumped alongside the road near his home in Cyangugu cell in Kamembe sector. According to the District Police Commander, Superintendent Jackson Sesonga, the deceased was killed by unidentified assailants. They further say that evidence so far gathered at the scene of the crime suggests that the victim was killed using a sharp knife at around mid-night. Sesonga added that the latter was found while lying in a pool of blood just ten meters away from his home. He was first seen by a young girl who was going to school at around 6.45 on Thursday morning. “We as security authorities have not yet zeroed in on any major suspects. At this juncture we are certain that the victim lost his life after being attacked by some assailants who assaulted him and he has several wounds on his neck, forehead and chest,” said DPC Sesonga. The police have so far arrested four people to assist in their investigations. A woman only identified as Mapendo who claims to have heard the victim being attacked is being questioned. Others being questioned are Mazimpaka’s housemate, Jean Claude Semugomwa and the motorcyclist who dropped the deceased from Kamembe town to his home on the fateful night. Security officials added that Mazimpaka left his friends in a bar at Ten to Ten Paradise Hotel located in Kamembe sector at around 10.30 pm. Mazimpaka is a Genocide survivor who was born in Bigogwe sector in Rubavu district and has been working as a chief accountant at the court since 2007. Ends
