Ferwafa to nurture FIFA agents

FERWAFA is set to stage a Fifa players’ agent assessment later this month, Times Sport can establish. The assessment, scheduled for September 24 will be a platform for the local football governing body to nurture local and international Fifa agents. According to Ferwafa’s CEO Jules Kalisa, the assessment, which will be closely monitored by Fifa, will be followed by two examinations; one in March and another in September. “After the exams, successful candidates will receive an official clearance from Fifa,” Kalisa said. In Africa, Nigeria tops the list of Fifa agents with 75 and is followed by Cameroon on 36. Others include Algeria (29), Egypt (25), Senegal (15), Ivory Coast (14), Morocco (14), Ghana (13) and South Africa (2). Overall, reigning world champions Italy have the highest number of player agents (495), followed by Spain (450), England (311), Germany (175) and France (152), in that order. The Fifa players’ agent examination evolves around the Fifa statutes, regulations governing the application of the statutes, transfer of players, procedure of players’ status committee and the dispute resolution, Fifa disciplinary code to mention but a few.
