Barbados Prime Minister, Mia Amor Motley, is in Rwanda for a three-day visit. During her stay, she took part into several activities including a joint press briefing with President Paul Kagame after holding a tête-à-tête meeting. Both Rwanda and Barbados have recently laid out plans to strengthen bilateral cooperation in areas such as trade and investment, sports, tourism, agriculture among others. Prime Minister Mottley later visited the Kigali Genocide Memorial, where she paid tribute to victims of the the 1994 Genocide Against the Tutsi. Later in the evening, Kagame hosted Mottley at a dinner gala Prime Minister Mottley’s visit to Rwanda follows Kagame’s visit to Barbados earlier this year which aimed at deepening existing relations between Rwanda and the Caribbean island. On Wednesday, November 9, Rwanda and Barbados signed cooperation agreements in the air services sector as well as in sports.
