RWANDA went from serious contenders to mere participants after a poor day-two outing at the three-day East African Golf Challenge. The 2005 champions, who bundled up an impressive 5 ½ points on Wednesday (Day one) failed to add to that score after a dreadful performance yesterday morning. “We struggled this morning (first round) but hope to put things right in the afternoon (second round),” Rwanda’s team manager Louis Kamanzi said. By press time, the team was fighting to put their campaign back on track in the day’s second and final round. On top of Rwanda and hosts Uganda, the tournament which is being played at Entebbe’s Par-71 Golf course has also attracted Burundi, Tanzania and defending champions Kenya. Ends
