Teachers urged on quality education

GAKENKE – The Ministry of Education, has implored teachers in the country, to adopt new teaching methods in order to produce competitive graduates. Addressing over 1000 teachers and local leaders from Gakenke District on Thursday, the General Inspector of Schools, Narcisse Musabyeyezu, noted that teachers should ensure quality education while acting as role models to their pupils. Musabyayezu, who represented the Minister of Education, Dr Charles Murigande, was in the district as part of the country-wide tours to evaluate the implementation of the Nine-year-Basic Education programme. He commended Gakenke teachers for their concerted efforts to stamp out the Genocide ideology, cases of which have been reported in various schools in the district. Governor Aimé Bosenibamwe, asked the teachers to be part of the country’s transformation especially within the economic and social spheres. “It is time to build a positive image for the education sector by embracing a positive attitude and mindset,’’ he advised.
