The Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Education, Samuel Mulindwa, has said that governments’ move to digitalize the curriculum is an initiative aimed at improving the quality of education. He said this at the official opening of an eight-month training of a group of technicians from key institutions who will be responsible for digitalizing and disseminating the curriculum. “We have targets of ensuring that the learning and life-skill needs of all young people are met, the level of adult literacy is improved, Gender equality in education achieved and the quality of education is improved to excellence,” he said. “We have the challenge of achieving “education for all” as well as the transformation of our country’s status to a predominantly knowledge-based economy by 2020.” The training is sponsored by USAID in conjunction with Rwanda Education Commons, an initiative by Africa Education Commons. The training is conducted by e-Education specialists from the School Content Manager of Mindset Net-work, a South-African NGO specializing in creating multimedia content. Ends
