Thirty five medics from health institutions around the country are currently undergoing a three-day general services course at King Faisal Hospital. The course that has attracted participants from Butare, Kanombe, CHUK and King Faisal Hospitals aims at equipping medical practitioners with skills to treat patients in case of any emergencies. Dr. Alex Butare, the hospital’s in-charge of education and research, said the course is being conducted by a visiting Professor from Emory University, Atlanta U.S.A “We are training nurses and other medics from Butare, Kanombe, Kigali Central Hospital, King Faisal and other health institutions on the general treatment first given to a patient in case of any emergency on physical acute trauma,” he said. According to Ruth Ng’ang’a, a nurse in the emergency ward, courses in emergency services are very important as they help the medics improve their skills. Ends
