Police hold murder suspect Police in Rutaraka in Nyagatare district is holding one Rulinda on murder charges. The suspect was jailed after he hit and killed his neighbour with a walking sick. According to sources the fight was sparked off when Rulinda’s cows strayed into the deceased farm. New laboratory in offing A new HIV testing facility will be established by the Ministry of Health in December. This was revealed by Richard Nkunda; head of the Molecular Biology Department at the National Reference Laboratory (NRL). According to Nkunda the new facility will help downsizing the number of patients recommended to the National Reference Laboratory as it will quicken services. Mineduc to hire more English teachers The ministry of education will hire more English teachers from neighbouring countries to teach in the new education programme. The development was revealed by the Minister of Education, Charles Murigande while meeting head teachers of Rwamagana district. Murigande said that since Rwanda has adopted English as the main language of instruction, the ministry plans to recruit more teachers from English-speaking countries to teach the French-speaking teachers. Kigali to host WHO session Rwanda will host the fifty-ninth session of the World Health Organization (WHO) Regional Committee for Africa, scheduled to take place from 31 August - 4 September at Serena hotel. According to a press release from the Ministry of Health, the session will tackle the issue of HIV prevention. Bazivamo in Rwamagana The Minister of Local Government, Christophe Bazivamo over the weekend met the leaders of Rwamagana to discuss ways of improving farming in the district. In a bid to develop farming in the district, Bazivamo said the ministry plans to give farming lessons to a select group who will later transfer the knowledge to other people. Ubumwe cooperative visits memorial site Members of Ubumwe farming cooperative in Ruhango in Nyanza district yesterday visited Murambi Genocide memorial site in Nyamagabe district. Their chairman called on other cooperative societies to always remember the victims of the genocide and promote unity and reconciliation. They also visited Genocide survivors in the same area and donated to them. Students attend economic lessons Over 200 English speaking students from all over the country have completed a 2-day economic seminar at Kagarama secondary school in Kicukiro on how to approach economic questions in the upcoming national examinations for A’ level students since it will be the first of its kind in Rwanda.
