Rwandan rapper RoMeo Rapstar and producer Dr Nganji have announced plans to release their debut collaborative album titled IHAHO. The 10-track album is scheduled to be released on November 16, through Green Ferry Music, Nganji’s record label and studio. It features artistes such as Slum Drip, Icenova, Carine Poet, B-Threy, Derek Sano, Mistaek, Big Zed, Bruce The 1st, among others. According to Romeo Rapstar, IHAHO simply means doing something and achieving it successfully, hence the name of the album, as the artistes share with fans their music journey. “You set out goals for yourself in life, whether educational or professional, and completing or reaching such goals is considered as an achievement and by any single accomplishment you do feel proud whereas this may be nothing more than daily life hustle, but you are advancing in life generally,” Romeo said, explaining what’s inside the upcoming project. While discussing the idea to collaborate on an entire album production, Dr Nganji said, “even though each one of us is an artist on their own with specific ambitions, we wanted to represent a feeling of satisfaction of us as we pursue our music achievement and accomplishment which we used to consider hard or difficult when we were starting, at the same time enjoying our journey to greatness for our careers together with our entourage.’’ On the production and distribution side, the Green Ferry Music manager says that, “It’s all inhouse competition at Green Ferry Music, if you want to be at your best, we have a proven track record in making projects. That kind of collaboration and interplay is what RoMeo Rapstar and Dr. Nganji needed for their career evolution, and for the organisation. It is always fulfilling to facilitate artistes' production, reaching their audiences with products and trying to stay ahead of the curve by adapting to and embracing what's new, and being fearless to push Rwandan music as far as possible”. The album’s audio production was handled by Dr Nganji, Dani Kard, Obadia Uwimana Mugisha, and Raymond Shema IHAHO musically, is an incredibly tight record packed with stellar performances, production and presence, as RoMeo Rapstar deliver complex, metaphor-heavy rhymes addressing subjects that the youth do face today. It is not the first collaboration between Rapstar and Nganji. In May this year, the two linked up for Kirazira a song from Dr Nganji's ongoing Mixtape dubbed “Overdoze”. The album debuts on November 16, on all streaming platforms.
