Centre de Formation Agricole de Petit alivage de Kamonyi (CEFAPEK) emerged the winner of the Fifa sponsored Special Olympic Tournament held at Kicukiro over the weekend.Cefapek emerged the overall winner after bagging 23 medals in all the football tournaments played on Saturday in both boys and girls categories.The tournament organized by the Special Olympic Rwanda and sponsored by the world football body, Fifa attracted 16 disability centers in the country participating in the 5-a-side, 7-a-side and 11-a-side football for hope tournament respectively.The Special Olympics Rwanda National Director, Anaclet Ruzindana said that Special Olympics and FIFA announced the launch of a new global football initiative for mentally challenged people last month.Ruzindana said that Fifa has shifted its engagement to the society from simply making donations to commit more social responsibilities and supporting Special Olympics in 10 countries in Africa.The disability centers included; Humura, Umwanankabandi, Hirwa, Cefapec, Abaterembere, Gihara, SOS, Maison d’accueil, Gisimba and Umurerwa.Ends
