MUHANGA - The district council has ordered the demotion of three sector leaders in Muhanga district over alleged incompetence and poor conduct. The council which sat on August 13, accused Charles Nzayisenga, Bonaventure Mwisheneza and Clet Munyanyindi, of Nyabinoni, Muhanga and Rongi sectors respectively, of failing to meet the 70 percent cut off marks needed by all local administrative staff as stipulated in the performance contracts. Their final fate awaits the decision of the provincial governor Fidele Ndayisaba. The Mayor, Yvonne Mutakwasuku confirmed the developments but declined to divulge more details. However, a council member who asked not to be named said; “The decision was taken by the council and it is on the basis of poor performance and conduct. They have not been fired but demoted.” The same meeting approved the merging of three departments in the district administration, and sacked two other employees, our source added. Ends
