TRIPOLI, LIBYA - The Rwandan team feel they deserve a better explanation after being ranked last after the round of eight. The team which won two of its three matches at this stage still came last on the final ranking which was released Tuesday morning and Innocent Karuhije, one of Rwanda’s team officials feels that the country deserves a better explanation from Fiba-Africa, the tournament organisers. “I don’t think Fiba has given us a good explanation for this. If they considered our head to head game with Morocco, then maybe we ought to be in the quarter-finals because we beat Cameroon,” the frustrated official said. In Group F, Rwanda finished on level points (nine) with Cameroon, Central African Republic (CAR) and Morocco but still came last in the group while on the comparative ranking displayed on the tournament website (www.libya2009.fiba.com), Rwanda is ranked 9th ahead of Morocco in 10th spot. Rwanda, who would have preferred to play Egypt in the classification game were last night faced with a huge task of having to overcome hosts Libya in their backyard. Ends
