Murigande advises curriculum developers Charles Murigande, the new minister of education, during a tour at the National curriculum development centre on Tuesday urged curriculum developers to popularize subsidiary subjects.He said that music and fine art were among the unpopular subjects that students should be encouraged to study. RMC completes draft Rwanda Medical Council (RMC) has announced that it has completed a draft that is intended to protect all medical practitioners as well as indicating patient’s rights. Innocent Gakwaya, the president of the RMC said that the draft has been forwarded to the ministry of health and there after it will be forwarded to parliament for approval. Genocide documentation The national commission for the fight against Genocide is organizing a national conference today on the project of establishing a documentation and research centre on genocide. The conference will take place at Hotel Laico in Kimihurura. Senate to highlight achievements Today the senate will brief journalists on what has been done during the second phase of 2009 which ended on August 4. The conference is due to take place at senate building in Kimihurura. DR Congo exhibitors in Expo For the first time, exhibitors from the Democratic Republic of Congo are among more than 400 companies displaying different goods and services at the ongoing trade fare in Kigali. New entrants to the Expo 2009 also include Turkey and the United Arab Emirates, according to the Chairman of the Rwanda Private Sector Federation, Robert Bayigamba. Free internet for NUR The National University of Rwanda in the Southern Province recently announced that it is going to provide free access to wireless internet connection for all its students and staff, following an agreement signed with TELE 10 to supply low cost laptops to NUR students. The director of the Centre for Instructional Technology (CIT), Gerard Rwagasana, signed the deal on behalf of the university. TELE 10 was represented by Eugene Nyagahene who is also its propriator. Rubavu, Nyarugenge perform poorly Nyarugenge and Rubavu were challenged by the rest of the districts yesterday during the presentation of performance contracts by the district mayors at the parliament before the President. The Minister of Local Government, Christopher Bazivamo revealed that the two districts did not fulfill the required results adding that they should improve. Ends
