Singer Vestine Ishimwe, a member of Rwanda’s famous gospel music group 'Vestine and Dorcas', legally married her Burkinabe partner Ouedraoso Idrissa on Wednesday, January 15, at Kinyinya Sector offices in the capital Kigali. Vestine, 22, and her fiancée, from Burkina Faso, made their civil wedding so private attendees were strictly prohibited from taking photos and videos. Vestine, who is two years older than her sibling and music partner Dorcas Kamikazi, is said to be 20 years junior her husband. The duo started doing music in 2018 before being signed under MIE Empire, owned by media personality Irene Murindahabi. They produced many popular songs that hit a million views on YouTube in no time, hence establishing themselves as one of the leading gospel music groups in Rwanda. Vestine & Dorcas are commonly known for their soulful voices in series of their songs like ‘Iriba,‘ ‘Simpagarara,’ ’Adonai,’ ‘Neema,‘ ‘Ihema,’ ‘Umutaka,’ ‘Ibuye,’ ‘Nzakomora,’ ‘Nahawe Ijambo,’ ‘Ku musaraba,’ ’Si Bayali’ and Isaha among many other hits.
