Rwanda’s U-17 national team will face a tough test this year after reports that Nigeria and Egypt will grace next month’s Cecafa youth championships in Khartoum, Sudan. Nigeria and Egypt will feature in the two-week regional tournament that runs from August 19-30.Ferwafa’s CEO Jules Kalisa told Times Sport yesterday that Cecafa have already informed the local body (Ferwafa) of the new developments. “Cecafa confirmed the development this week and we are looking forward to fielding a strong team in the championship,” Kalisa said. Kalisa lauded Nigeria and Egypt’s involvement stressing that it will go a long way in assessing the level of football in the region. The invitation of these two countries raises the numbers of participating teams to 12. The junior wasps are currently undergoing a two-week training camp in Germany under the guidance of former German international Michael Weiss. Ends
