Renowned South African YouTuber and musician David Scott, better known as ‘The Kiffness,’ has brought a new touch on viral gospel song “Everyday, I Need Blood of Jesus,” originally sung by Rwandan up-and-coming gospel artiste Gloriose Musabyimana who is mostly known on social media as Gogo Gloriose. The rendition, infused with instrumental arrangements, is capturing the attention of audiences worldwide since its release last week, and The Kiffness was no exception. He was inspired by the song’s lyrics and decided to do a featuring. Initially, she was curious about how songs are composed and, inspired by reading the Bible, she started singing casually, but overtime, her talent became evident. In a recent interview with local YouTube channel, Ibuye Tv1, Gogo Gloriose said that she has no specific income-generating activity. The 36-year-old first sang the viral snippet during an appearance on local YouTube channel ‘Urugendo Online TV.’ Known for its gospel talk shows and testimonies, the channel featured Gogo’s song, which quickly became a social media sensation. The repetitive yet spiritually uplifting line, “Everyday, I need the blood of Jesus,” quickly captured netzens’ likes and later morphed into a viral meme, even spawning the ‘mosquito challenge’ online, especially on TikTok. David Scott, famous for his parody videos and innovative musical collaborations, came across the viral clip and transformed it into a full-fledged musical piece. As it appears on his YouTube video, the producer used instruments like the trumpet and piano to elevate Gogo Gloriose’s simple yet powerful melody, adding layers of harmony and rhythm. The video, shared on platforms like TikTok and YouTube, now appears in fusion of Gogo’s authentic vocals with The Kiffness’ re-production style. The Kiffness' rendition, which he described as his “first collab of 2025,” is uploaded on his YouTube channels which is followed by close to 3 million subscribers. The song has already garnered over 102,000 views as of Sunday, January 12. In the video’s description, Scott assured viewers that Gogo Gloriose would receive her fair share of the streaming revenue if the song is officially released. “Once we’re able to reach out to Gogo, we will arrange to pay her fair share of streaming revenue from this video and/or song,” Scott said, emphasizing ethical practices in viral content monetization. In 2020, he gained international acclaim with clever COVID-19 parody songs and collaborations with animals, such as a singing cat and a squawking bird. The most recent viral video, streamed by over 4,000,000 people, features Ruan Vitor, a young boy from Bahia, a state in northeastern Brazil. This video has captured widespread attention due to Ruan's talent and inspiring backstory. According to one of his followers, Ruan comes from a very poor area in the interior of Bahia. His family has faced significant challenges, including his mother surviving a life-threatening attack by her former husband, who could not accept their separation. Ruan also has twin siblings, one of whom he struggles with ongoing health issues and is frequently hospitalized. The song that propelled Ruan to fame was written by himself.
