Rwanda international Innocent Nshuti has joined Azerbaijan Premier League outfit Sabail FK on a six-month deal. Nshuti, 27, was released by American third tier side One Knoxville FC on December 1, 2024, after failing to impress the club which he left without registering a single league goal in their books. The club opted against renewing Nshuti’s contract which expired in December but his fine form with Amavubi was enough for the Azerbaijani club to sign him. Nshuti's exploits attracted a host of teams including Marumo Gallants from South Africa, and Zira FK but the former APR FC forward opted for Sabail FK who were also in the fray. Our team signed a contract with Innocent Nshuti until the end of the season, the club announced on Tuesday. Based in Azerbaijani capital city of Baku, Sabail FK are currently at the bottom of the Azerbaijan Premier League table with 9 points from 18 games.
