Rwandan forward Lague Byiringiro has moved to Police FC after terminating his contract with Swedish second tier club Sandvikens IF on Friday, January 3. The law enforcers officially announced the signing of Byiringiro via club’s social media platforms on Monday, January 6, after both parties agreed to an 18-month deal which will run until June 2026. Lague Byiringiro has officially joined the Police FC family on a 1.5-year deal from Sandviken IF! the Police said via Instagram on Monday evening. Byiringiro, 24, started his career with the now defunct Isonga FC. He later joined the youth set up of APR where he was among their brightest prospects before being promoted to the senior side in January 2018. He signed for Sandviken IF on January 26, 2023 and went on to make 39 appearances, scoring nine goals and providing one assist. His contract was terminated in January after both the player and the club agreed to part ways through mutual consent. Reports indicated that league leaders Rayon Sports contacted the Rwanda international over a possible move earlier on but he turned down the deal to join Vincent Mashami at Police FC.
