Rwanda international Hakim Sahabo is expected to have his medical with Beerschot on Monday, January 6 after the club and Standard Liege agreed to a six-month loan deal for the youngster. Beerschot initially wanted to make Sahabo’s deal permanent but, after Standard de Liege turned down the offer, they are now content with signing him on loan with no option to buy. Sahabo, 19, will undergo a medical in a private hospital on Monday after which he will put pen to paper for the deal which will see him play for the club until June 30. ALSO READ: Hakim-Sahabo may join team coached-by Liverpool legend The Rwandan midfielder has had a torrid spell in his first six months at Standard Liege this season as he was demoted to the second team known as SL 16 which currently plays in the Belgian third tier league. Sahabo has 18 months remaining on his existing Liege contract which expires in the summer of 2026. Beerschot, owned by Saudi Arabian billionaire Abdullah bin Mosaad bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud, currently sit 16th on the Belgian Jupiler Pro League table with 12 points from 20 games. They are coached by Liverpool and Dutch legend Dirk Kuyt.
