BSC covers health insurance for 500 Kicukiro families

Broadband Systems Corporation (BSC), a leading local tech company specialising in world-class broadband connectivity and solutions, extended support to residents of Karama Cell, Kanombe Sector, in Kicukiro District, by covering health insurance (Mutuelle de Sante) for more than 500 families. As part of a community-focused initiative aimed at combating malnutrition and stunting among children, BSC also distributed free milk to residents. The event featured the provision of free internet to improve the community’s quality of life. Internet was installed in public areas where young people often gather, such as basketball and volleyball courts, to encourage entertainment and learning. We observed that many young people are active in sports and entertainment, so we decided to provide internet access to deliver knowledge and benefits in a sustainable way, he said. Tuyishime urged the youth to use the internet responsibly to contribute to the country's development. In addition to the internet, BSC extended its support by offering milk to children aged 3-6 years who attend daycare centres in the village. We aim to contribute to the holistic development of residents by addressing their immediate needs, such as health insurance and nutrition for young children, said Tuyishime. Many parents cannot provide enough milk for their children, so this support significantly contributes to their health and growth, she noted.
