Striker Innocent Nshuti has signed a two-year contract with Azerbaijani powerhouse Zira FK, joining countryman and longtime friend Ange Mutsinzi at the same club. The Rwanda international confirmed the move to Times Sport before his flight to Azerbaijan aboard RwandAir on Friday night, January 3. “I am joining Mutsinzi, I am happy and I thank Jesus who is able to do what we can’t imagine,” Nshuti told Times Sport. Nshuti parted ways with US third tier side Having One Knoxville SC after his one-year contract on November 30. The club was not interested in extending deal after failing to meet his employers’ expectations where he managed just one goal and zero assists in 20 games. He has now finalized terms with Zira FK, embarking on a new chapter of his career after a nightmare spell with the American club. Based in the City of Baku, Zira FK, was founded a decade ago. Having progressed through all levels of the national team, from the junior category to the senior level, Nshuti's journey includes a promotion from the APR academy in 2015. Some of his crucial goals in Rwandan colours include his strike against South Africa in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers in November 2023. Rwanda won the match 2-0. Nshuti also played a professional stint with Stade Tunisien in Tunisia which is the current home of midfielder Bonheur Mugisha.
