Tigers Basketball Club has secured the services of Pascal Niyonkuru and Marius Trésor Ntwari ahead of the 2025 Rwanda Basketball League (RBL) season that is set to tip off on January 24. Both players have signed one-year contracts with the team. ALSO READ: Basketball: How top teams are prepared for the 2025 season Small forward Niyonkuru joins from Rwanda Energy Group (REG), while center Marius Ntwari makes the move from APR. Club President Francis Shyaka confirmed the signings to Times Sport, expressing confidence that the duo will bring added strength and quality to the squad. Niyonkuru began his senior career with APR in 2013, where he played for three seasons before joining Espoir in 2015. While at Espoir, he was instrumental in helping the team win the 2017 Genocide Memorial Tournament, defeating REG in the final. He later switched to play for REG. Meanwhile, Ntwari, formerly played for teams including Westcliff University in the USA. The Tigers have also improved their technical bench by signing former Patriots coach Henry Mwinuka on a two-year deal. The team finished fifth in the 2024 RBL season out of 10 teams.
