Spectacular fireworks lit up Rwanda's skyline on New Year's night as tens of thousands gathered at different venues across the country to usher in 2025 in style. Previously, New Year's fireworks displays were mostly organised in the capital Kigali but this time around other cities, including Rubavu, Musanze and Nyagatare joined in the popular tradition. In the City of Kigali, fireworks blasted off Kigali Convention Centre, Canal Olympia in Rebero, Imbuga City Walk in the Central Business District, and Kigali Serena Hotel, with similar spectacles taking place on the shores of Lake Kivu in Rubavu District, at GOICO Plaza in Musanze District, and at EPIC Hotel in Nyagatare District. Fireworks were shot at the stroke of midnight, with revellers celebrating the occasion in earnest, many sharing videos of themselves dancing, singing, hugging, and kissing their loved ones as they greeted the New Year. The New Times' Dan Gatsinzi, Craish Bahizi, Olivier Mugwiza and Willy Mucyo captured the spectacles of fireworks. RUBAVU MUSANZE
