Editor, This has reference to your article regarding the EAC Common Market. It would be of great benefit to both business visitors and tourists, if the EAC Common VISA is implemented as soon as possible. Europe has very successfully introduced the CHENZEN VISA and I am sure an EAC Common VISA will be a great boon particularly for RWANDA. Again, the Rwanda VISA charges continue to be pegged at USD 60, though Kenya has very sensibly reduced their VISA cost by 50 %, i.e. they have slashed the VISA fee from USD 50 to USD 25! Though this would result in an initial loss of revenue for the Immigration Department, I do believe that in the long run, the reduction in VISA fees would result in higher visitor arrivals ,a higher number of overnight stays and consequently higher foreign exchange earnings for the country. Yours sincerely, Clarence Fernandes ChairmanRWANDA RENAISANCEclavinmarketing@hotmail.com
