The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has listed Rwanda among countries which secured qualification for the 2024 CHAN finals which will take place in Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda from February 1-22. Initially, CAF granted CECAFA zone just one additional slot aside the three host nations who are in the region. The fourth slot was to be determined by the team which collects maximum points from the play-off. Sudan defeated Ethiopia over two legs and collected 6 maximum points and the ticket while Amavubi drew 4-4 with South Sudan on aggregate. Amavubi, however, had the away goal rule in their favor after scoring twice in Juba.
