Musanze FC put up a spirited performance against AS Kigali on Wednesday, November 2, in a Rwanda Premier League rescheduled week 3 game. After the early exchanges at the Kigali Stadium, it was the home side which took control of the game as Rashid Kalisa and Lawrence Juma dictated the pace in midfield. The first clear chance of the game fell to Hussein Shaban in the 17th minute. But his strike inside the box was saved by goalkeeper Muhawenayo Gad. Musanze who were missing star striker Peter Agblevor through suspension operated effectively from the left flank. They were unlucky in the 24th minute when Ben Ocen's shot was saved by Fiacre Ntwari. The first half ended 0-0 though AS Kigali were slightly on top. The second half saw AS Kigali putting more men forward but they could not break the resilience of the Musanze defense. Coach Andre Casa Mbungo introduced Moise Nyarugabo to add more bite to the attack as Shaban Hussein continued to miss chances. Musanze had a chance to snatch a late winner in the 97th minute through Luc Kwizera after an unpardonable error by Rugirabo. The attacker beat goalkeeper Fiacre Ntwari but saw his goal bound effort clear off the goal line by Ahoyikuye Jean Paul. The referee blew his whistle for the end of the game in the 98th minute with the scores at 0-0.
