Musanze head coach Sosthène Habimana has said that he is ready to contribute to Amavubi’s fortunes after being named assistant coach to Jimmy Mulisa ahead of the upcoming African Nations Championship (CHAN) second round qualifier against South Sudan. Habimana replaced Yves Rwasamanzi who, it is reported, left the camp on Monday, December 16, citing reasons associated with his family. Rwanda travel for Juba on Thursday, December 19, two days before the first leg match on Saturday. The team has been holding training sessions at Amahoro Stadium and Habimana vowed to give support needed enough to help Amavubi qualify for the CHAN 2024 finals in Kenya. “I am happy to be part of the national team. I am ready to give my best to help my country perform well (against South Sudan),” Habimana said. Habimana and Mulisa will take charge of Amavubi during the upcoming two qualifying fixtures against South Sudan on December 21 and December 27, as head coach Frank Spittler left for Germany for holidays. Rayon Sports midfielder Olivier Niyonzima, Bugesera FC striker Yannick Bizimana and Rutsiro FC striker Yves Habimana are among the players who left the camp.
