Heavy rain and a windstorm destroyed 19 houses and damaged crop plantations in Jarama sector, Ngoma District. The incident occurred on the evening of Thursday, December 12, 2024, leaving residents grappling with the aftermath. No fatalities were reported. The provisional assessment indicates that 19 houses were damaged. Some of the roofs were blown off by the wind, while other houses collapsed, and they will require reconstruction, Mugirwanake said on Friday. He added that the extent of the damage was still being evaluated, and a more comprehensive report would be released on Saturday.
