Mukura Victory Sport have again been hit by financial crisis with just three weeks remaining to start the new national football league. The Huye based outfit finished fourth last season but are struggling to put together a formidable squad capable of challenging the big four for a place in the ‘no go zone’ that is often occupied by APR, Rayon Sports, Atraco and Kiyovu, but in no particular order. When contacted by Times Sport, Patrick Kayiranga the team manager confirmed the presence of the financial stress at the club. But he noted that the club management is working hard enough to find ways of restoring the good financial stand. “We are faced with some financial constraints at the moment. The club has no source of income and only depends on its members and Huye district for survival.” “But we are trying all possible ways to get money to cover player’s wages and recruitment fees to bring in new players,” Kayiranga admitted. Sources close to club insiders who requested not to be named, say that most players are demanding two-month wages and this has affected pre-season preparations for the coming season. The problem of financial constraints continue to hurt the Southern Province based club as it was in 2005/2006 national football league that lead to the club finishing in the miserable 8th spot. The financial condition was restored last season and this helped the club compete for top spots on the National Primus Football League table. Mukura team manager reveals that the current squad looks depleted after the departure of several young and top quality players most of whom were out of contract at the club. Right-back and Under-20 national team star Egide Uwizeyimana has joined AS-Kigali where as Nesta Muhayimpudu and Idrissa Hakizimana have both joined champions APR Fc. The club has also released the quartet of: Saido Uwimana, Bawiri, Pablo Wironja, Femba and Amon Mudeyi. Ends
