Secondary school embraces ICT

APEBU Nyamata senior secondary school in Bugesera, Eastern Province will soon be connected to the internet to enable students access information technology. Jean Paul Rusagara the school’s headmaster said that the school will be in position to connect to the internet so that students can as well be able to learn how to operate computers and use of internet. He disclosed this at the closing of the term assembly where Clare Effiong, Director of Esters Aid an NGO donated four computers, a scanner and a printer to the school as a contribution towards enabling the school to attain its objectives. “The ICT revolution is here with us, as such we cannot be left behind. We must subscribe to the wireless internet connection system with effect from next term so that our students can be able to access internet as well as be able to learn how to operate computers,” Rusagara said shortly after the assembly. Present at the closing of the term assembly, was the former Rwandan Ambassador to New York Joseph Nsengimana. Addressing students, Nsengimana applauded the development and appealed to students to take the move seriously. “The internet connection will help you (students) to learn more which you may not even be taught in your classes. You will be able to teach and learn by yourselves if you know how to operate a computer and use the internet as well,” Nsengimana added.The Headmaster, revealed that the school which has over 800 students is to connect to the internet using eight computers which will be availed to the students through a properly arranged programme.
