Rwanda’s envoy James Ngango on December 7 presented his letters of credence to Pope Francis in a ceremony held the Apostolic Palace in the Vatican City. Ngango, who has his residence in Geneva, also represents Rwanda in Austria, Liechtenstein, Slovenia, Switzerland and other Geneva- and Vienna-based international organization. While in Vatican, Amb. Ngango held discussions with officials on cooperation with Rwanda. On December 5, Ngango met with Monsignor Roberto Campisi, the Assessor for General Affairs of the Secretariat of State, and they discussed institutional collaboration and enhancement of diplomatic coordination. Amb. Ngango also held discussions with Monsignor Miroslaw Stanislaw Wachowski, the Under-Secretary for Relations with States, focusing on strengthening bilateral relations and advancing shared objectives. On December 6, Ngango also held discussions with Cardinal Pietro Parolin, focusing on fostering bilateral relations. The Catholic Church, through its religious congregations and affiliated NGOs contributes to the improvement of the lives of of Rwandans, particularly in education, healthcare, and community welfare.
