Rwanda international Rafael York has left Swedish second tier side Gefle IF following their relegation to the third division in the just concluded 2024 season. York, 25, joined Gefle on a two-year deal on January 16, 2023 after rejecting a contract extension from Eskilstuna. Both parties have now agreed to part ways so the midfielder can join a club of his choice when he becomes a free agent in January 2025. York has previously played for a host of clubs including VFL Bochum in Germany, Kalmar FF, Varnamo among others.
