Despite a promising start with an opening partnership of 51 runs off 33 balls, the Rwandan bowlers quickly tightened their grip. Monroux Kasselman top-scored for Botswana with a hard-fought 50 off 37 balls, including six boundaries and two sixes. However, a middle-order collapse saw Botswana stumble to 137/9 in 20 overs. Rwanda’s disciplined bowling attack ensured that no other Botswana batter could make a significant impact. Rwanda’s response was clinical. Opening batsmen Oscar Manishimwe and Didier Ndikubwimana formed an unbroken partnership of 138 runs, chasing down the target in just 16.2 overs. Manishimwe’s aggressive 89 off 52 balls, featuring seven fours and five sixes, was complemented by Ndikubwimana’s composed 43 off 35 balls. The duo’s synergy left no room for Botswana’s bowlers to make a breakthrough, sealing Rwanda's maiden win in the tournament.
