It was a weekend full of surprises in the Rwanda Premier League as no team won at home while only 13 goals were recorded across the match venues. Again, Rayon Sports maintained their position at the top of the league table after an emphatic 3-0 victory over Vision FC. Times Sport brings to you five talking points from match day 11. The goals that Police FC have conceded this season have similarities. Their defense doesn’t have the needed cover in front of them and it makes them easily exposed. Looking at the goals they conceded against Amagaju, there was no cover when Issa Yakubu and Samuel Ndizeye went for the same ball, Emmanuel Tuyishime squared the ball to an unmarked Seraphim Kiza who just drilled home the winner. Fall hits early form With six goals in 10 games to his name, Rayon Sports striker Fall Ngagne has hit the form so far this season and he is now leading the top scoring race. He has scored some fantastic goals this season and he keeps growing in confidence. It is evident that the Senegalese striker has more under his sleeves as he has been one of the best players so far this season. Amagaju's unpredictable nature Amagaju FC are one of the most unpredictable teams in the Rwanda Premier League. They lose games you expect them to win and vice-versa. They have become a torn in the flesh against big teams in Kigali when the pair squared off at Kigali Pele Stadium. Amagaju, playing with a man down, held Rayon Sports to a 2-2 draw on match day 2 and they have defeated Police FC 1-0 on match day 11 at the same venue. But they struggled against Muhazi United and others middle table teams makes them very unpredictable. Niyigena carving a niche for himself at the back It is fair to say that no Rwanda Premier League centre back has been more consistent in the past three seasons than Clement Niyigena. The APR defender has showed outstanding performances on continuous basis and one unique thing about him is his goal scoring ability. Niyigena netted a fabulous header in the second half to power the army side past AS Kigali with a 1-0 win. It won't be long before big teams on the African continent take note of the 23-year-old defender. APR FC, Blues in top form ahead of derby The big teams particularly APR and Rayon Sports have started showing their title winning credentials despite the league being at its 11th week. Rayon started the season on a slow pace drawing their first two matches against Marines FC and Amagaju but, since then, they have gone 8 games unbeaten and without conceding a goal. APR also had a slow start to the season after their CAF Champions League exit, recorded a goalless draw in one of their early games against Etincelles before losing to Gorilla FC on forfeit but they have now found their rhythm. There is more to come from the much anticipated derby between the two Rwandan arch rivals at Amahoro Stadium on Saturday.
